Infertility assessment & Counselling
At Well Woman Clinic we recognize the importance of providing both physical and emotional care during your fertility treatment. That’s why fertility counseling and infertility counseling is included in your initial consultation and is available at any time during the remainder of your treatment.
We understand the challenges faced by people with fertility issues and are here to provide advice and support from the moment you get in contact with us. Our specialist team also provides workshops where you can meet other people going through the same experiences.
We offer three types of counseling depending on your individual needs:
Implications counseling provides an emotionally safe place in which to explore what treatment will involve and the lasting implications for you and those close to you. If you are using donated gametes (e.g. donor sperm, eggs or embryos) implications counseling is routine before you start treatment.
Support counseling recognizes that going through fertility treatment can be distressing and have an impact on your relationships with others. This type of fertility counseling provides an opportunity for you to explore your feelings, coping strategies and relationship issues with partners, family, friends, and colleagues. You might find that you need support at different stages of treatment, therefore support counseling can be undertaken before, during and after treatment.
Therapeutic counseling is provided to assist you in accepting your situation. And, if required, it also provides longer-term support if you find fertility treatment distressing and need help in coming to terms with the consequences of ending treatment and moving on to other options.
